After two Friday evenings of intense racing action, it now all comes down to finals night at the Hatrick Raceway this evening.

The www.racingdogs.co.nz Spion Rose Cup ($37,000, Race 10, 9pm), is New Zealand's third richest greyhound race at Group 1 level.

It will be decided between a field that has an extremely even, competitive look to it.

And the main support race, the Group 2 $13,000 Brad Canty Dash For Cash will precede the big event.

Northern trainer Ben Craik holds the key to the Spion Rose decider.

He has qualified two chasers, both of whom have indicated during the heat and semifinal rounds that they will be peaking at precisely the right time tonight.

Just Jordana (3) and Code Nine (7) have drawn ideally enough to strongly make their presence felt.

"Just Jordana is set to try to lead them all-the-way," said Craik.

"She has improved with her recent races. Code Nine likes racing from out wide and he should be positioned to swoop on his rivals going down the back.

"Both have worked up super during the week."

Race sponsor Paul Freeman and Angela Turnwald have their team really firing at the moment. They also have two finalists engaged, although both have drawn poorly.

"Ate To Much must push up onto the early pace from his draw [5]," said Freeman.

"If he's near the lead going into the first turn, then he's strong enough to finish over the top of them.

"Riggs is improving with every race and again if he can get some early racing luck, then he can get some of it [stake]."

Denis Schofield trained Koko Whiz to an upset win last season and he has the talented Jannik, the fastest semifinal winner (30.01s) leaping from the tricky eight trap. He must hop away smartly from out there.

Consistent Group race winning trainers Dave and Jean Fahey have qualified Brighton Bullet.

He is likely to be sighted charging home late.

Upset claims can be made for the brave Indi Rhode from the inside trap.

She produced a phenomenal effort to qualify after she was carved up during the early rush last Friday.

She has drawn the ace trap from where she is likely to hug the rail throughout for her trainers Wayne and Tracy Steele.

It is a field of extreme speed merchants who will contest the 305m Dash For Cash final Race 9, 8.31pm.

Trainer Lisa Ahern has been treated kindly with both of her finalists Fiery Dancer (1) and Allegro Star (2) drawing perfectly.

Lana Udy is rapt in qualifying her speedster Leadfoot Lenny for her first ever Group race.

He has the ability to ping away smartly from trap three.

Freeman and Turnwald trained Guru Goose to win last year's edition and he is returning to defend his title.

He must exit swiftly from trap seven here to do so.

The partners will be dishing out the collars and leads to other handlers as they also have qualified Need To Chill (4), Wild Punting (6) and Run Lacey Run (8) for this final.
