It is not only Wanganui City's Federation side sitting out a bye today.

Wanganui Athletic's 1sts also have the week off in the Western Premiership after coming from behind last week at home to earn a 3-3 draw against Takaro.

For coach Mickey Cronin, it will be a "Catch 22" situation.

The enforced break will enable time to recover from the niggling injuries picked up in the first three weeks of play, but the momentum gained in those weeks from the young side will be eased.

The former may be opportune, given the next outing for Cronin's side is their first away trip to current league leaders Redsox Rovers.

So for today, the main fixture at Wembley Park will be at 2.30pm when third-placed Wanganui City Reserves come up against fourth-placed PN Marist Reserves.

For the home side, last week's 5-2 loss to the aforementioned Rovers will be put behind them because after having five regulars out for that match, coach Steve Welch should have a full quota to select from.
