It was another fine turnout of Mr Plod and his bowls buddies at the Aramaho Bowling Club yesterday.
The 38th Wanganui Police Sponsored Bowls Tournament attracted 20 teams of fours, making 80 people taking part in the annual event. Played for charity, tournament rules are that one serving or retiredmember of the police must be in each team.
The teams were split into two divisions to challenge for either the Carter Holt or Newport shields.
The points, or ends, were accumulated at the end of play to establish first, second and third placings.
As well as local officers, not all of whom would consider themselves lawn bowls experts, others had travelled from Wellington, Palmerston North and New Plymouth to take part.
