The Border rugby team remains unbeaten during a week-long pre-season trip to Australia.
Club spokesman Guy Lennox said the team, a mix of senior and premier players, arrived on the Gold Cast last Thursday and played its first game against the Noosa Dolphins on Friday drawing 10-all.
"It was atough game and many of the teams we're playing during our trip include a few ex-pat Kiwis that have played rep and senior rugby back home, so they're no slugs,' Lennox said yesterday.
Aaron Vadiga and player/coach Peter Richardson scored tries for Border in the first match.
The second game was against the Surfers Paradise Rugby Club which is regarded as a strong side. Border won convincingly 31-17 with tries going to Vadiga, Todd Cowan, Cole Baldwin and Brett and Willie Symes, while first five Mark Davis kicked three conversions.
"We have one more game against Pirates in Surfers and then we're home on Sunday. It's been a busy trip and the boys are handling it well rehydrating most nights, but out for runs to sweat it out the next morning," Lennox said.
