The four Premier 1 sides were without their Wanganui representatives but still had the wood on their Premier 2 opponents for the start of the new-look Wanganui cricket Twenty20 competition on Saturday.
Wet weather from previous days meant Victoria Park was still not quite ready for play in season 2013-14,so three matches were relocated to Spriggens Park instead.
The closest result for the Premier 2 teams was David Jones United 2nds' run chase against Matt Burke Engineering Marton Saracens Gold, finishing eight runs short when the overs ran out down in Marton.
However, the Saracens club are splitting their Premier 1 players across both their teams for the T20 component of the season.
This coming Saturday, weather permitting, will be the first weekend of play for the Wanganui one-day competition after the opening weekend on October 12 was postponed by rain.
