Ate To Much has drawn to gain a deserved win in this evening's feature Keenan Concrete C4-5 520m event at the Hatrick Raceway, Race 10 at 8.44pm.

This Paul Freeman and Angela Turnwald-Foxton trained greyhound has been producing competitive races while not receiving much racing luck.

He has drawn nicely in the two trap from where he should be able to create his own tonight.

Since the start of the new season Ate To Much has finished third in the Group 1 Wanganui Cup, second in the Group 2 Angus Memorial, while gaining minor placings in grade events.

Those group races have been won by the impressive Piggy Back, who is warmly favoured to win Sunday's Group 1 Waterloo Cup in Auckland.

Others who could perhaps push the strong finishing Ate To Much include Hypotential who, providing he starts smartly, appeals as the likely pacemaker.

He is also prepared in Foxton by Glen Quirk.

Graduation was a stylish Manawatu winner last Monday for Palmerston North trainer Lisa Ahern, while kennelmate Mi Ti Pa is also capable of featuring, especially as another chaser from that kennel Bumpa Sticker is listed as an unlikely starter here.

Chainsaw Pete is a longer odds place prospect in this race for local trainer Brian Marsh.

He will find tonight's assignment a tad easier than his most recent engagements.

It certainly was a race meeting with a difference at the Hatrick Raceway last Wednesday, where 10 520m heats were held for the New Zealand Racing Novice Series.

This series is restricted to Kiwi-bred greyhounds only and is designed to reward the breeders of locally bred chasers.

In doing so, half of the $7000 stake that will be on offer for next Wednesday's final is reserved for the breeders of the placed greyhounds.

It sure was cut-throat racing in those heats, which saw the eight fastest heat winners earning the right to contest the final.

The other two winners form the reserves bench.

Posting the swiftest time was the northern Steve Clark trained Rushin Doll, who clocked a handy 30.40 seconds.

Next best for Lisa Ahern was the debutante runner Check The Mail (30.42 seconds).

Another Clark prepared chaser, Blitzing Mayhem (30.45), was the third quickest.
