Wanganui's Lisa Allpress has finished third in an international jockey challenge in Kuala Lumpur at the weekend.

Allpress rode one winner and placed third twice in the searing Malaysian heat.

"I finished third in the competition, so I am pretty happy," Allpress said while resting up in Singapore following the challenge.

"I had an unlucky run on one of them. It could've won, but I got tightened up - all good though," she told her many Facebook fans.

Allpress and husband Karl return home to Wanganui tomorrow to prepare for their next overseas sojourn.

At the end of next month the pair travel to England where Allpress rides at Ascot and then Dubai.

Four days after returning from that trip the family move to Singapore where she has a three-month contract to ride.
