Woman receives minor injuries after vehicle hits power pole at Springvale Rd intersection in Whanganui

A car rolled on to its side and hit a power pole at the Springvale Rd roundabout this morning, trapping a person in the vehicle.

Emergency services were called to the intersection of Springvale Rd and Parsons St just before 8am. A car had hit a power pole outside the Springvale Dairy after turning on to its side.

A police spokeswoman said Fire and Emergency crews helped extract a woman from the car. She received minor injuries and was taken to hospital as a precaution.

The road was closed for a time.
