A woman charged with murdering a 14-year-old girl on Friday night wailed as she was walked out of a Whanganui court room this afternoon.
The woman was granted interim name suppression by Judge Philip Crayton, who remanded her in custody without plea.
The Judge also ordered that a section 38report be carried out on the defendant to determine the status of her fitness and sanity at the request of duty solicitor Ollie Crosse.
"It's going to be alright. I love you," a man shouted from a full public gallery as the accused stood in the dock with tears streaming down her face.
At about 8.20pm on Friday night Whanganui Police responded to a call from someone saying that they had harmed a family member.
