Shine bright like a diamond, like Neil Diamond, that is. The Sweet Caroline Tour, a tribute to the legendary singer, comes to the Opera House on Saturday, with all your favourite songs. 8pm-10.30pm. Tickets 0800 TICKETEK (842 538).

Sport on telly

Don't miss the Hurricanes' transtasman Super Rugby challenge as they take on the Brumbies in Canberra. Sky Sport 1, coverage from 9.30pm Saturday, kickoff 9.45pm NZT.

Kitchen treats

It's the long weekend, and some of us will have a little extra time to spend in the kitchen. Why not dig out the crock pot and slow cook your way to some culinary perfection? See what's on special in the meat section and treat your tastebuds.
