Rangitīkei MP Ian McKelvie declared a gift from the New Zealand Racing Board in the Register of Pecuniary Interests.

Rangitīkei MP Ian McKelvie declared a gift from the New Zealand Racing Board in the Register of Pecuniary Interests.

Dinner and two tickets to a rugby game are the only gift declared by the MPs for Whanganui, Te Tai Hauāuru and Rangitīkei in the latest list of MPs' financial interests.

The Register of Pecuniary Interests includes MPs' company directorships and interests, property ownership, interests in trusts and various other financial interests such as superannuation and mortgages. They must also disclose all gifts worth more than $500.

While items like designer clothing featured on some MPs' lists of gifts, local MPs had little in the way of gifts to disclose.

Rangitīkei MP Ian McKelvie was the only local MP to declare one. It was a dinner and two tickets to the All Blacks vs Lions game in Wellington, gifted by the New Zealand Racing Board.

He also listed overseas travel to Singapore for the Special Olympics Asia Pacific Conference, with Special Olympics New Zealand contributing to travel and accommodation costs.

McKelvie's other interests include a number of company directorships, several in companies that are not currently trading, and he is a beneficiary and/or trustee in seven trusts. His property interests include a family home in Taupō, farmland in Manawatū, commercial property in Palmerston North and a Wellington apartment.

Te Tai Hauāuru MP Adrian Rurawhe declared interests in Māori land blocks in Aotea District (26 blocks), Tai Tokerau District (1), Takitimu District (2), Waipounamu District (11) and Waipu General land block, Ratana Pā, as well as a family home at Whangaehu.

Rurawhe is a trustee and beneficiary of Waipu Trust and a trustee of The Motunui Epa Guardians Trust.
