Police want to locate Jason Te Arohanui Steven Osborne who is believed to be in Whanganui.

Police are seeking information on the whereabouts of Jason Te Arohanui Steven Osborne, who is believed to be with associates in the wider Whanganui area and actively avoiding police.

A warrant for Osborne's arrest has been issued by the New Plymouth District Court in relation to a gang-related shooting in Waitara on December 12. Taranaki police believe this incident is related to a gang shooting that occurred at the Highway 61 gang pad in Waitara on December 5.

Whanganui Police Sergeant Aaron Bunker says Osborne's photograph is slightly dated and he now has more facial hair and has gained weight.

Members of the public are urged not to approach Osborne. Anyone with information should contact Police on 111 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
