Residents are fed up with bad driving behaviour in Delhi Ave.
Whanganui Police are encouraging people to report bad driving behaviour at the time it is happening.
The message comes after an Aramoho resident contacted the Wanganui Chronicle about locals' concerns for public safety, particularly of children and the elderly, because of cars speeding, driving on the wrong side of theroad and doing doughnuts in Delhi Ave.
"You walk your dog and you're scared a car is going to come round the corner and go on the wrong side," the woman, who asked not to be named, said.
"That's happened to me before and they didn't care - they just laughed. Now it's happening at all hours. It's just crazy. When I went for a walk the other day, they were doing doughnuts in the middle of the road.
"Probably I worry about the kids on the road more than anything. Lots of kids ride their bikes along there to Churton School."
There are fears for children who use Delhi Ave as a route to Churton School.
Senior Sergeant Andrew McDonald said there had been two complaints about poor driving behaviour in Delhi Ave in the past two months, the most recent on Wednesday, April 18.
McDonald said the matter had been assigned to a staff member for further investigation.
"We encourage people to report poor driving behaviour to us at the time," McDonald said.
"For emergencies, this can be done by phone or through the 'report a bad driver' link on the Police website if the matter is not urgent.
"If you want the incident to be investigated with a view to the offender being prosecuted, a formal complaint should be made at your nearest police station.
"The type of information that is very helpful for us includes the type of bad driving, a description of the driver if possible, the registration number and description of the car."
