Mcdonald pleads
Paul Bradley Mcdonald pleaded not guilty to a charge of making an intimate visual recording in Whanganui District Court on Tuesday. His lawyer is Richard Leith and Mcdonald has elected a judge alone trial.

Special speaker
Dr Glen Hazelton, behind Dunedin's successful town centre regeneration, is guest speaker at the
Whanganui Regional Heritage Trust annual general meeting on August 5. All are welcome to the meeting, which runs from 2.30pm to 4.30pm at the Grand Hotel. Hazelton will speak after the trust's business is done and refreshments follow.

Planters sought
Willing planters with spades are needed at Whanganui's Hylton Park, a walking and mountainbiking area in Aramoho. Rotary North has 400 plants ready to be planted on August 5, or August 12 if the weather is poor. Planters should meet at the park's gate at the end of Field St at 9am, and bring a spare spade if they have one.

Three keen
So far, three people would like to take the late Cr Pat Kelly's place at the Horizons Regional Council table, representing Palmerston North: former Palmerston North Mayor Jono Naylor, former Palmerston North councillor Chris Teo-Sherrell and Grant Seton.
