JIGGER RIDES
What: Take a short ride on an original railway motor trolley (jigger) as once used by the NZ Railways for track inspection and repair. While onsite have a look at other ongoing railway projects and memorabilia. Refreshments available.

THIS I BELIEVE ... WITH HARETE HIPANGO
What: Harete is a lawyer and Whanganui local. She and her husband, Dean MacFater, are mana whenua, with Harete having affiliations with Te Atihaunui a Paparangi, Ngati Apa and Nga Rauru. She was born, raised and educated in Whanganui, attending Sacred Heart College. She graduated in 1991 with an LL.B and has worked in general practice in family, mental health, youth justice child welfare, criminal, Maori land and mediation. She has served in governance roles including the Whanganui District Health Board and is now the Whanganui electorate MP, the first Maori woman MP for Whanganui in a general seat. Harete and Dean have three adult children — Paparangi, Keepa and Roimata. Join us for an interesting and informative talk, followed by questions and supper.
