The Central Districts Hinds and their Whanganui representative Jessica Watkin had the wood on the Otago Sparks in their first two games at Centennial Park in Oamaru at the weekend.
In Friday's Twenty20 match, the Hinds won by five wickets, bowling Otago out for 88, with Watkin taking 1-17 fromher four overs, then reaching 89-5 with seven balls to spare, Watkin scoring 22 from 20 balls.
In Saturday's 50-over match, the Hinds won by 32 runs, reaching 235-9 with Watkin top scoring with 51 from 50 balls, then bowling Otago out for 203, with Watkin getting the last wicket to finish with 3-23 in her ninth over.
However, it was a different story in the second 50-over match on Sunday, with Otago winning by 140 runs.
They raised 273-7, Watkin taking 1-54, with the Hinds bowled out for 133, Watkin falling early for 2.
At the Under 19 World Cup in Christchurch on Saturday, Watkin's Tech clubmate Akash Gill was in the Canada side that lost to West Indies by 187 runs in the plate semifinal.
Gill took 4-54 from his nine overs as the West Indies reach 323-8, but was bowled for a duck as his team collapsed to 123 all out.
