"On Friday, August 31, 27 booths with six volunteers at each will be set up around the city."
There will be a stall at the Whanganui River Markets on Saturday, September 1.
Volunteers for the Whanganui fundraising effort include 162 people for the booths on Friday, 15 at the pop-up shop, four people rostered on each day this week at Trafalgar Square, Vintage Car Club delivery people and logistics people who will help with collecting money and delivering merchandise on Friday.
"We're hoping the weather is good on Friday," Cox said.
"We'll be zipping around in the Plumber Dan yellow vehicles checking on the booths.
"People who haven't yet ordered Daffodil Day items can buy daffodils or merchandise from the Victoria Ave pop-up shop or Trafalgar Square."
The Daffodil Day tally will include more than $1600 raised by the Wanganui Vintage Car Club's Daffodil Rally for Cancer, held on Sunday, August 26.
Organiser Peter Hardy said there were 134 entries for the "scatter run" rally in which participants had drive around Whanganui to find answers to quiz questions.
"There were absolutely no disasters on the run and the atmosphere remained fantastic throughout the afternoon," Hardy said.
"We will not have the total raised for a few days but in excess of $1600, all for our local Cancer Society."
The rally winners were Jamie Coull and navigator Josephine Coull with 276 points. Last year's winner Wozzo Kerr was second with 275 points. Joint third were Rebecca Hardy and E Greenwell with 266 points.
