United's Tom Lance will be after a captain's knock today in the semifinal against Levin Old Boys.

Property Brokers United will be hoping to replicate last weekend's victory when they rematch with Levin Old Boys in the Bullocks Coastal Challenge Cup semifinal at Victoria Park this afternoon.

The only Whanganui club to make the Top 4 playoffs, United are unbeaten with six wins and two games abandoned, having defeated Levin by three wickets in a low-scoring but quick fire game at home last Saturday.

That loss knocked Levin from second place down to fourth as they finished the round robin with four wins, three losses and one game abandoned.

United captain Tom Lance leads the competition's MVP statistics as per the CricHQ website, as he is second on the batting chart with 300 runs – 28 runs behind Levin's Jamie Pinfold – while Lance is also tenth in the bowling statistics with eight dismissals.

Other key United players have been allrounders Ritesh Verma and Simon Badger, while bowler Ryan Slight also has eight wickets despite injury issues.

Levin's Daemon Kennett is joint top wicket-taker for the competition with 14 dismissals, while Bailey Te Tomo and Dion Sanson have had some good innings with the bat.

In the other semifinal at Kena Kena Park, defending champions Paraparaumu (four wins, one loss, three abandoned) host Kapiti Old Boys – the only club who avoided enough of the bad weather to play a full campaign with five wins and three losses.

The minor playoffs today will see fifth-placed Weraroa host eighth-placed Wanganui Collegiate at the Weraroa Domain, while there will be a derby match between sixth-placed St Johns Tech and seventh Marist at Victoria Park.
