John Trevethick will be a familiar sight in Wanganui CBD now that he has taken on a dual management role within city's insurance industry.
Mr Trevethick is branch manager of State Whanganui, a position he has held for the past 10 years, but now he has also been given theresponsibility of the AMI branch across the road.
His double management task comes about because both State and AMI are owned by IAG, Australasia's largest insurance group (it also owns NZI Insurance).
He said the dual role would be challenging and he was looking forward to it, seeing it as an opportunity to further share his insurance expertise with the community, with the support of his two teams.
"We recognise that our customers are different across each of our brands, but with a number of similarities between claims and issues, it makes sense to align leadership so we can gain a broader understanding of our customers' experience and how to improve it," Mr Trevethick said.
"A lot has changed in the insurance landscape over the last four years, and the public is asking far more questions as their understanding of concepts such re-insurance and risk continues to grow.
"I'm looking forward to further building on this knowledge with the help of my teams."
And Mr Trevethick knows the importance of the teams being involved in delivering service because this year State Whanganui was winner of the local Mainstreet service awards for best professional and best overall service.
