"It was at the Tuatara brewery and ours was the first theatrical event to be held there."
Green was directed by Tse's partner James Cain of Red Scare Theatre Company.
Under was shortlisted for Auckland Theatre Company's The Next Stage and commended for PANZ Long Play Award 2017.
As May's confused and grieving husband, Green delves into memories of his marriage looking for clues.
"Green is great at acting through the pauses and demonstrates that you don't have to chew the scenery to reach through to people," wrote Wellington reviewer Tim Stevenson.
"There are tears in the audience by the end."
The play opens at Wanganui Repertory on Monday, February 26 and Green will return for two more performances on Friday, March 2 and Saturday, March 3.
As well as having acting chops, Green is a singer possessed of a "fine baritone" and he is also performing with fellow singers Thomas Nikora, Val Andrew and Lydia Weir in the musical review Sweet Dreams - And Other Stories in Song.
The group has been performing at the Marton Players Theatre and will perform at Repertory House in Hawera tonight.
"I am still touring Coaltown Blues and I have a South Island schedule later in the year when I will be doing both plays and the musical review on different nights," says Green.
He enjoys the variety, he says, and the interactions with his audiences.
