The vision for the Junior Committee is for tennis to be the summer sport of choice. New Wanganui Tennis Club coach, Leela Beattie, is working collaboratively with the Junior Committee to make this vision a reality.
On Wednesdays from 3.30-5.30pm, younger club and non-club junior members are encouraged to attend theirClub Day.
Different beginner skill levels are catered for through the 'Hot Shot' tennis programme. Also on a Wednesday from 4.10-5.15pm, there is an "Aspiring Tennis" programme for those who are able to serve, score and rally.
These skills learned can then be put into practice on a Saturday morning at junior match play.
Leela intends to introduce after-school paid coaching sessions to primary, intermediate and secondary students, and on Monday's and Friday's she will available for private coaching for anyone.

The last of these sessions for adult non-members will held for one hour from 10.15am and then 5.45pm on Wednesday, October 25.
Over the years, this free coaching initiative has proven to be very popular with people who have been thinking of learning or getting back to tennis, and this year has once again been no exception.
