Traffic management is handling a stretch of State Highway 4 following a crash involving two trucks.

A stop/go system is in place in Kakatahi and motorists are advised to take extra care.

Police were alerted to the incident around 9.10am.

A police spokeswoman said there are no reported injuries and a specialist tow truck was required.

State Highway 4, from Whanganui River Rd to Fields Track, was fully closed until 1.20pm.
