The South Island Indoor Bowls team's North Island tour commences tomorrow in Porirua and will swing through Whanganui on Sunday to face the local representative squad.

South Island take on North Wellington-Horowhenua Combined on Friday and then will face both Lower and Upper Hutt on Saturday, before going to Masterton to meet Wairarapa Bush-Ruahine on Sunday morning.

They will then join the Wanganui Indoor Bowls team for dinner, before playing them at Jubilee Stadium on Sunday evening.

South Island will have just one fixture per day for the rest of next week - meeting Manawatu, Hawkes Bay, Poverty Bay and Bay of Plenty from Monday to Thursday - then having a day's rest before the big one.

They will face North Island in the 37th annual Kevin Eddy Memorial Trophy clash at Rotorua's RGHS Arena next Saturday.

Men's triples skip Michael Lawson (Ashburton), a reserve for the 'Mat Blacks' national team, will captain the side as he makes a record 19th appearance.

The squad has depth in leadership with Mike King (Canterbury) and Chris Moffitt (South Otago) being former South Island captains.

Games will consist of men's and women's draws for singles, doubles, triples and fours.
