HAVE you ever thought about doing a parenting course?

A parenting course isn't just for parents who feel they aren't coping, they are for all parents. It is a way of supporting you as parents and adding new tips and strategies to help you as you journey through the parenting maze.

Many parents feel that there must be a better way to cope with all the demands that raising a family puts on us. If we have more than one child, it can be about coping with child behaviours and the challenges of meeting their individual needs that can stretch our ability to cope.

In Wanganui, we are fortunate to have regular parenting courses that are free and available most school terms. Many parents have benefited from attending courses run in our community, here's what parents are saying:

-Thank you to all involved, it's given me heaps to think about and practice to help build my little ones into better adults.

-Made me realise what I am doing is not so bad. Thank you.

-Thank you for a great course, I really enjoyed it and came away with greater ideas and using tools I've learnt and putting them into practise. Parenting isn't all about the "bad buzzes", this course enables us to be the best parents that we could be and have fun doing it.

-Great course, it has opened my eyes to a lot of things that I had overlooked. Very good communication with everybody.

-Using this course I have found confidence to take control of the situations that my children give to me.

-I strongly recommend that all grandparents should be encouraged to participate in this course. My husband has enjoyed reading the information.

-I enjoyed this course and all the information has come in very useful in our house, a must-do course for sure. But I myself would not have been able to attend if it wasn't free to me. Thank you.

-This course has been very worthwhile, so good to meet new people, be reminded of so many parenting skills, be reminded that life is fun and so is being a parent.

-Great life-saving skills for healthy, happy, confident family life.

-Very enjoyable and fun course, I have learned some very valuable skills. Thanks.

-I am a better mum because I came to the course.
