WHO do you listen to? Why do you listen to them? Do they help take you towards your goals or away from them?

When I first heard these questions, I had also just heard that "The quality of your life is determined by the quality of the questions you ask" (Dr John Demartini), so I was on the lookout for some quality questions.

These three questions were really useful because, when I thought about it, there were people who I was listening to and not getting anything from apart from a story about other people and what they had done.

There were no ideas, no ways to help grow yourself - just negativity.

So, I thought today I would add some ideas to your life from someone I listen to - Robin Sharma, an inspirational writer who is followed by more than two million people on Facebook.

Here are his favourite "five quotes to lift your game":

1) "Be yourself, everyone else is taken." (Oscar Wilde)

Meaning measure your success against you achieving your dreams, not achieving other's dreams like having a flash car or greater status. How many people are you serving to achieve their dreams? Because true happiness is derived from helping others to succeed.

2) "Health is the crown on the well person's head that only the sick person can see." (Ancient saying)

Value your health - you only get one shot at this life and when you get sick, it can be a long road back. Enjoy and treasure the health you have as it provides happiness.

3) "They tried to bury us ... they didn't realise we were seeds." (Mexican saying)

I love this quote. When life throws the tough stuff at you, know you have a choice - if you think you're hard done by, you will be; if you think you can grow from this experience, you will. Choose to be the seed and grow.

4) "Spring is past, summer is gone and winter is here, but the song I am meant to sing is unsung, for I have spent my days stringing and unstringing my instrument." (Rabindranath Tagore)

Are you busy being busy? Always stringing your instrument and not singing your song? Whatever it is you love to do, go do it - don't wait until it's the perfect time. Whatever you want to achieve in your life, you will when you focus on it and do it.

5) "When you were born, you cried while the world rejoiced. Live your life in such a way that when you die, the world cries while you rejoice." (Rabindranath Tagore)

Such a beautiful quote - nothing matters more than your impact on humanity. Are you creating the life you want to, so your children can see that they too can create the life they want as well? Are you serving your customers to improve their lives and help them to achieve their dreams and goals? Measure your life on the people you have served and helped, and all that you want will become a reality. If you focus your success on money, on your car, your house and how it compares to others, this can breed unhappiness.

I hope these questions and quotes have been useful. If so, share them with others and give them the gift of quality questions and quotes. The happiness you desire and the love you have in your life can be impacted by who you listen to. So, who do you want to listen to?

Robin Sharma's podcast is available at iTunes for FREE and it's called The Mastery Sessions.
