Project Marton gifted restored lawnmower

This week an old restored lawnmower was presented to Project Marton by a local company Robbies Mechanical Services.

Project Marton Coordinator Cath Ash said a mower was needed urgently to keep the lawns around the community gardens lush, green and beautiful.

Project Marton is now situated in spacious surroundings in what used to be an old Marton Women's Bowling Club Pavilion looking over sprawling grounds, part of which are a flourishing communal garden.

Every Friday at 10am at Project Marton is a community morning tea and last Friday the lawnmower was wheeled in to the delight of all.

One man, Murray Nash, said he will be the man to keeps the lawns trimmed regularly.

"It's something I enjoy doing.''

The produce from the communal garden is free.

"We love our gardens. They are really special. It's a project very close to my heart,'' Ash said.
