Powerco working to restore power on Puriri Street in Whanganui after car crashed into power pole

Powerco is working to restore power to homes in some areas of Gonville after a car crashed into a power pole on Puriri St on Wednesday morning.

Emergency services attended the scene near the Puriri St and Totara St intersection at about 1.20am where power lines were draped across the road.

There was no loss of power at the time, however, the power was turned off at 11.45am to carry out repairs and is it is expected to be restored by 4pm.

Nobody was injured in the crash.
