A person with a firearm allegedly entered a Whanganui property yesterday.

Police responded to a report of an armed person entering a property on Heads Rd, Castlecliff, about 3pm on Wednesday.

The property’s only occupant was able to get to safety and has no reported injuries.

Senior Sergeant Malcolm Collins said police found “nothing of note” at the address.

“Cordons were in place and armed staff were in attendance as a precaution,” Collins said.
