The Palmerston North Athletic Harriers club continued their dominance of the annual Anzac Day Relays, held at Scoutlands Campsite on Kaitoke Rd on Wednesday.
The Wanganui Harrier Club event saw 21 teams of four runners enter the Men's relay, and ten teams took part in the Women's relay, during whicheach runner would do two laps of the course before handing over to a team mate.
A PNAHC team has won the Men's relay for the last five years straight and Wednesday was no different, as they completed their eight laps in 26m 54s, over 30 seconds clear of the runnerup Wanganui Collegiate team.
Collegiate's Liam Back was still a standout as he ran is leg in 6m 3s, only taking one second longer on the second lap than his 3m 1s time at the split.
PNAHC's A team managed to overhaul WCS's lead over the next two legs.
The A team from the Moa Harriers in Feilding finished third, around 50 seconds behind WCS.
In the Women's relay, the PNAHC A team regained the title they had surrendered to the Egmont Harriers last year, making it six victories in seven years, as they completed their four legs in 32m 40s, around nine seconds ahead of WCS, with the Whanganui High School B team right behind them in third.
There were individual races for children, who did 1-2km laps of the course.
Alex Payne won the Under 9's 1km race in 4m 35s against six other competitors, while the Under 12's 2km race was won by Will Sablerolle in 9m 1s against three other runners.
The two-person Walkers race was won by Alex Willis and Bradyn Popow, also of PNAHC, in 25m 22s against five other teams.
