The accident scene on Armstrong St. Photo / Ebele Ezepue

One person has died after a crash between a car and a motorbike in Palmerston North.

Police said they were called to the crash on Armstrong St near Tremaine Ave in the suburb of Roslyn about 7.30am.

A man was taken to hospital via ambulance but had since died.

A worker on Armstrong St said he was driving to work at the time of the accident.

He said a motorcyclist was driving towards Tremaine Ave when he hit a utility vehicle which was turning across Armstrong St.

The serious crash unit was investigating.
