Creations Gallery and Gifts in Drews Ave is about five artists creating art individually and displaying and selling it in a collective space.
They also exhibit guest artists.
This month their exhibition space features photographer Tania Warbrick and a collection of pictures entitled Their Resting Place.
"I've got six framed photos - a
mini exhibition ... I felt quite special that I was invited to hang my exhibition there," says Tania.
Over the past few years, Tania has visited the car wrecking yard at Horopito, made famous by the film Smash Palace.
"It's like a playground for a photographer. From those visits I've put together six of my favourites in a 16x20 framed format."
Each photograph is titled with names such as Trapped, Intertwined and Exposed, giving an emotional element to the rusting old vehicles in the frames. Tania has a fascination with old cars.
"They've done their time; this is their resting place."
She says while newer cars might still have life, the older cars have character. Tania does some post production work of her photos - a little enhancement in Lightroom editing to emphasise certain colours, but not a lot more than that.
"If there's a distraction I'll take it out, but I will not put anything into my photos."
She says she has a good camera but it takes the "bones" of the picture. Her work in Lightroom adds the "meat".
"It gives me the ability to shift them past what I saw in the camera, but not too far past that it's unrealistic," she says.
