The NZ Transport Agency says it has worked around concerns of businesses and homeowners while undertaking repairs on a section of Anzac Parade on State Highway 4.

Its response comes after two Anzac Parade business owners told the Chronicle communication wasn't great between themselves and the agency.

In a statement, NZTA Regional Transport Systems manager Mark Owen said adjacent property owners were informed about the job, prior to work beginning.

He said contact numbers for NZTA representatives were also given out.

"Depending on the issue raised, a number of different restrictions were placed on the construction methodology in an effort to minimise disruption to adjacent landowners, where feasible," he said.

"For example, no piling operations were to be carried out between 12pm and 2pm to minimise disruption during the lunch period."

Any nearby residents or business owners with concerns about the work are encouraged to contact NZTA.
