Noel Leeming and Spark stores in Hāwera targeted in ram raids

Hāwera’s Noel Leeming and Spark stores have been targeted in early morning ram raids.

Police received reports of the Nelson St burglaries about 3.50am on Sunday.

Police confirmed a vehicle was used to gain entry into the premises and inquiries were ongoing.

The Noel Leeming store reopened on Monday after being closed on Sunday.

The Spark store will remain closed until a reopening time is confirmed on the Spark website.

A Spark spokeswoman said the safety of its employees was the top priority and steps had been taken to secure the store while the damage was assessed.

“We apologise for any inconvenience and thank customers for their understanding,” she said.
