New era at your daily paper

Welcome to your new-look Wanganui Chronicle.

As you thumb your way through your compact, easy morning read, we hope you will be impressed with the new features and join us as we launch our series of articles and photographs celebrating all aspects of life in our magnificent region.

Many things have changed in your favourite local paper, quite apart from the size of the pages. On Page 3 there is a brief guide to help explain the major changes.

One thing that remains the same is our passion and commitment to give you, our readers, a compelling morning read full of essential news, comment and information about our area. In our new compact paper, we will continue to strive to give you fresh information, human stories and insightful features about issues you care about. We will keep local officials in public office accountable and tell you how the decisions they make are affecting your lives.

We will also unashamedly celebrate Wanganui successes. If a local person or organisation has achieved something of note, we will tell you about it.

This is your newspaper, so please let us know what is happening in your community. If we believe something needs to be highlighted, exposed or celebrated, we will do so. We will be bold, truthful, colourful, informative and entertaining, but what we don't ever want to be is boring.

We're Celebrating Wanganui and want you to join us. There are several ways you can do so: tell us of a person, group or place that deserves to be featured, share a comment or photograph, or fill out the form on Page 26 (the back page of TV Times) to share why you love living here.
