Hunterville's Hannah Rushworth (Women's Class), will be in the New Zealand team who takes on Australia at the 2018 FIM Oceania Trials Championships this coming Labour Weekend.

The Oceania event is being run in conjunction with the New Zealand Moto Trials Championships near Christchurch.

The Trans-Tasman competition will be for the Cup and Shield that New Zealand won last year in the Barossa Valley, near Adelaide.

Meanwhile, Taihape expat Hayden Smith will be competing at the big 33rd annual MX Fest in Taupo this weekend.

The event attracts all the country's top motocross riders to start the season at the Digger McEwen Motorcycle Park, with 17-year-old Smith having finished 14th for 125cc riders at the FIM Junior Motocross World Championships in Australia back in August.
