Wanganui's Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is celebrating this weekend as their Oxford St chapel turns 50.
Work began on the building in May 1964 and it was officially opened on July 8, 1965.
This Saturday the chapel will be the subject of an "open home" and the public
is invited to attend.
Have a walk through the chapel, look at the photos, ask questions.
The church's Family History Centre will be open and genealogists will be able to help interested people start their family tree or assist in furthering The The young people of the church will have be sizzling sausages on site as well.
The open home is from 1-4pm this Saturday at the chapel in Oxford Rd.
