Second-five Ethan Robinson just snares South Canterbury centre Vatiliai Tora, one of dozens of last ditch diving tackles that embodied Saturday's victory in the Meads Cup semifinal in Timaru.

Saturday's Meads Cup semifinal in Timaru saw a couple of significant milestones amongst the Steelform Wanganui team.

Halfback Lindsay Horrocks earned his blazer after playing his 50th first class game.

The 2015 Heartland player of the year debuted for the squad in 2013 against King Country and has played every Heartland match since, either as the starting No9 or off the bench.

It was also a proud day for the Robinson family and their Kaierau Rugby Club, because when reserve loose forward Cade Robinson came on in the fourth quarter, he joined second-five Ethan in becoming the first pair of brothers to have played for Wanganui in the same Mitre 10 Heartland match.
