Mangaweka crash: Motorcyclist dies following serious crash with car

A motorcyclist has died following a serious crash on State Highway One at Mangaweka.

Police said the two-vehicle crash between the motorcycle and a car happened near Manui Rd and was reported just before 11am.

Police said the motorcycle rider died at the scene.

“The road remains closed while a scene examination is carried out.

“Motorists are advised to avoid the area and expect delays.”

Mangaweka is a small town south of Taihape.
