A man will appear in court after being sighted with a firearm in the Whanganui CBD.

A police spokesperson said they were called to a disorder incident on Ridgway St about 12.30am on January 1, with the man arrested in a vehicle nearby.

“The 34-year-old man is next due to appear in Whanganui District Court on February 18 on a range of firearms and drug-related charges,” they said.
