Whanganui Science Forum presents Protein from plants : A farewell to farms? : Is animal farming finished? Allan Hardacre is a retired Senior Researcher in the Massey University Institute of Food Science and Technology. He specialises in the function of starches and flours in foods and in the manufacture of meat analogues fromplant protein. In his spare time he lectures in brewing and restores old cars.
His Whanganui Science Forum talk on Tuesday, June 26 is: ■ Where does protein come from? ■ Is animal protein on the way out? ■ Is the world running out of protein? ■ What are the problems with animal protein? ■ What alternative protein sources are there? ■ Protein in the diet.
