Whanganui Musicians' Club kicks off its 2015 season this week with some good old fingerpicking blues.
Hard Candy will play at the Whanganui Musicians' Club tonight.
The band has played in Wanganui before, but this is the first time as guests of the musicians' club.
Hard Candy is fronted byBob Cooper-Grundy, one of the country's foremost fingerpicking blues exponents. Having served an extensive apprenticeship in blues bands in Britain and the United States, Mr Cooper-Grundy brings a depth of experience in the southern styles - known collectively as Americana - that is rarely seen in New Zealand.
Joining Mr Cooper-Grundy in Hard Candy are Kate Marshall on fiddle, accordion and flute, guitarist Karen Clarke, bassist Hamish Cameron and Wayne Morris on drums.
