Friday evening's open class 520m event (Race 10) features the return of two greyhounds who contested last Sunday's $35,000 Waterloo Cup final at the Manukau Stadium.

Blazin' Carter was really gallant in the bold manner he chased after the tearaway pace making winner Pinny Mack in the Group 1 527m event, claiming the runners up prize from 5.75 lengths behind.

He slots away into the two trap for his conditioner Lisa Cole, where he is strongly favoured to make it four 520m Hatrick wins from as many races.

Blazin' Carter has drawn to achieve that.

His kennelmate Ask King Jeff is also returning from his Sunday open class Manukau 527m outing, when he kicked on solidly during the run home for his fourth placing.

He won't complain about being required to exit from trap six here.

Bigtime Wendle also had a Manukau Sunday outing where she endured a traffic impeded racing passage in the feature $8,500 318m sprint.

She will relish returning here and racing over 520m this evening for Cole, even though she has drawn poorly in trap five.

The Matt Roberts-prepared Quistis Bale occupied the rear group throughout in the Waterloo Cup final.

She has no option but to ping away smartly from her trap eight draw here.

Local trainer Brian Marsh has his charge Tyson's Quest fairly flying at the moment.

He easily won a lower grade 520m event here two races ago and then he delivered a bold effort for his three length open class 520m second last Friday. Tyson's Quest can make things interesting during the early rush from the three trap here.

Making a return into the top class ranks in this event after claiming a couple of C4 wins is Arden Emgrand for Angela Turnwald.

He will appreciate being allocated the one trap to step away from here.

Also returning from her Waterloo Cup assignment to contest this evenings C4 520m event (Race 8) is Bigtime Lily for Cole.

It was a valiant effort by her when she claimed her fourth placing. She'll enjoy the drop back in class she receives here.

Looming as a threat to Bigtime Lily are her kennelmates Bigtime OnFire and Bigtime Fred.

Roberts has the promising Cawbourne Laz engaged here, while a competitive effort can be expected here by Clover Bubba for Turnwald.
