It must be an interesting experience, but also an utter frustration owing a greyhound like Trojan Hoarse.

This fella just can't nail a feature race victory as he keeps on setting the pace, then he keeps on being run down at the business end of his races against quality opposition.

That scenario unfolded yet again in Monday's running of the $6,500 Groucher & Crowder Taranaki Cup, where Trojan Hoarse set the pace, looked set to secure a deserved feature race victory, only to be gunned down in the very final stride when he was nailed by a nose margin.

It was a pretty handy greyhound who dive-bombed Trojan Hoarse, as the victor Nature's Gent is a triple Group 1 520m-winning greyhound.

That has been the same racing pattern that Trojan Hoarse has endured in six of his last seven races, including in Group 1 series.

This evening in Race 10 at Hatrick, the Lisa Cole-prepared Trojan Hoarse meets a field which, at least on paper, isn't as strong as he has recently matched his paws against.

He will be loaded away into trap eight and by making his usual quick start he can lead his rivals all the way in this event and in doing so land a thoroughly deserved race win.

Looking to deprive Trojan Hoarse of his 12th career wins are a couple of his kennelmates like Bigtime Mia and Bigtime Caleb, while local trainer Brian Marsh adds interest to this race by returning his charge Tyson's Quest to 520m racing.

Tyson's Quest has been short course sprinting lately, however he's more than capable of being able to deliver a competitive 520m effort here.

Tune into this Monday's Palmerston North meeting at the Manawatu Raceway as there will be an interesting array of race commentaries being delivered during the meeting.

Twelve different commentators will deliver their respective commentary styles.

The meeting kicks off with Matt Cross, who is followed by Jason Teaz.

The Canterbury callers Trevor Wilkes and Mark McNamara follow them.

Tony Lee then picks up the microphone and he'll hand it over to Dave McDonald.

Aaron White is quite use to calling at the venue, as is the next up Darryl Robinson.

Northern thoroughbred commentator George Simon will then call his 457m event, while Andy McCook gets to call the first leg of the terminating $15,000 TAB Pick6.

McCook then teams up with Mark Rosanowski and the pair of them will deliver a duet call on the 660m distance event.

Rosanowski then gets to call his own race.

James Van de Maat is an emerging talent in the Victorian commentary ranks and he'll deliver the call on the Race 13 457m

It definitely looms as an intriguing afternoon of greyhound racing.
