The return to Friday evening chasing by the smart Blazin' Carter adds spice to the open class 520m event (Race 10) at Hatrick Raceway tomorrow night.

The Lisa Cole-trained chaser delivered, by his standards, a subpar effort in his last appearance here. He was given three weeks off following that.

Blazin' Carter commands respect for his return from trap three, as his prior race saw him finishing a bold 527m second in the Group 1 Waterloo Cup.

He is the owner of the field's best winning 520m time in 29.83s.

It was his kennelmate Ask King Jeff who prevailed in last Friday's version of this race.

He jumped from Trap 1 to lead throughout for his 29.98s 520m win and jumps from the same trap tomorrow evening.

Blazin' Carter's litter sister and kennelmate Blazin' Audrey also scored last Friday when she produced a 29.99s 520m gallop.

Her claims from trap eight here cannot be lightly dismissed.

Local trainer Brian Marsh will load away his charge Tyson's Quest into Trap 2.

He has the ability to hop onto the early pace and he can nab a podium position by using that healthy tactic.

Making his return here is perennial minor place getter Idol Tom for Marcie Flipp.

He sneaked down to Addington last week, where he ran on as usual for his 520m fourth placing.

That's his normal racing style – slow early and then he's sighted rushing home at the business end of his races.

The box draw has set up what promises to be a slick paw wrestle in the open class 305m sprint (Race 5).

It was the Cole-prepared Sir Duggie who dashed through his 305m assignment in 17.40s to claim his win last Friday.

He will exit from Trap 8 here, which is a trap he has won five of his six previous races, plus one placing.

Securing her preferred Trap 1 draw is the deadly railing sprinter Rain And Tears.

Her trainer, Matt Roberts, produced her to chase homer Sir Duggie, 2.25 lengths behind him, last Friday.

She also owns compelling stats when she's sighted wearing the red racing vest, having carried it to six wins (two minors) on the eight occasions she has worn that colour.

Flipp has a pair of more than handy sprinters engaged here, with both Idol Nifty and Idol Hot capable of being involved at the sharp end of the race finish.

Cole's Bigtime Victory has stake claims after his 17.53s 305m Friday win.
