It was a welcome return to winning form for the talented greyhound Bigtime Levi at the Manawatu Raceway on Monday.

The Lisa Cole-trained greyhound finished strongly to secure his 457m win in a tidy 25.99s.

The win also saw Bigtime Levi regaining his open class chasing stripes, which now provides him with a slight class edge over his rivals in one of this evening's feature races at Hatrick.

Bigtime Levi has drawn trap one in the Liquorland Wanganui (Race 10).

It is a trap that doesn't really suit his strong come from behind racing style.

You can expect him to be sighted charging home at the business end of this event.

His kennelmates No Time Toulouse and Bigtime Caleb both return here after their traffic impeded Group 2 Waikato Classic outings at the Cambridge Raceway last Friday.

Using her known early pace can see No Time Toulouse putting herself into contention for a long way here, while Bigtime Caleb is presented with swooping claims after he jumps away from the eight trap.

It's great to see the stayers in action over the 645m trip where they'll contest the Race 4 Wanganui Chronicle C1/2D event.

The key to the race is held by stayers provided from the Angela Turnwald kennels.
Included is the brilliant but erratic greyhound Mija Sydney.

The scenario for this bloke is very simple – lead his rivals away from the traps and he is more than capable of delivering an effortless win.

Mija Sydney doesn't like being crowded and if he is given a gentle early nudge then a couple of his kennel mates are likely be sitting poised ready to capitalise.

Gentleman Tim is generally sighted contesting the early pace in his staying assignments and drawing trap one here can assist him to employ that healthy tactic.

Mister Ebby is another from the Turnwald kennel who can make his presence felt over the 645m trip.

Cawbourne Kai certainly is capable of breaking up the Turnwald held domination in this field as seen when his trainer Matt Roberts produced him to land his easy last start 645m win.

A repeat win by him here wouldn't surprise.

The gun 520m greyhounds from around the country will be returning to the Hatrick Raceway next Friday where they will contest heats for the $27,465 Hatrick Classic at Group 1 level.
