"I've had a bit of criticism for that one," says Ms Greener.
"But it's all part of the fun and if they don't like that tree there are plenty of others they can look at."
There are green trees, white trees and black trees all decorated with different themes and colour schemes and this year there is a new tree that sheds shimmering snow.
Also new this year is a themed room titled Fifty Shades of Bronze and for the cynical visitor there is even a Christmas Grinch tree.
"My son painted some glass baubles with Grinch faces and a friend of mine won the gaudy lime green tree in a raffle," said Ms Greener.
The frivolous gives way to the classical as visitors stroll from room to room and there are hundreds of animated dioramas and toys in the displays.
"I have carried my childhood joy of Christmas things all my life and I also love miniature trains so there are quite a few of those."
In the Toy Room a bespectacled teddy bear in a rocking chair will read visitors The Night Before Christmas and other soft toys start laughing as you get close to them.
Every wall space in the grotto has some new delight and there are even upside down trees suspended from the ceilings.
Granny's Christmas Grotto is open Monday to Thursday 7.30 to 9pm and Friday to Sunday from 1pm to 4.30pm. Entry fees are $3 for adults and $2 for children 14 and under.
