The Wanganui 4WD Club is hosting a 'Give it a Go' day on Sunday morning.

From 9.30am to 3.30pm, anyone interested in learning more about 4x4 truck competition can head up to 791 Turakina Valley Rd and strap into the navigator seat to tackle some challenging obstacles.

You must be over 140cm in height for safety reasons, with a ride costing $20.

There will also be a more 'basic' ride for children which costs a gold coin donation.

The club is putting on a free sausage sizzle and lolly scramble.
