THE SOUNDS of world music wafted out the War Memorial Hall doors along with the scent of incense.
Inside, around 30 stalls dealing in everything from candles to clairvoyance to crystals made up the Psychic and Holistic Lifestyle Expo, which visited Wanganui this weekend.
This was the expo's first outing
in Wanganui, and organiser Kevin Beard was thrilled with the event.
"[Saturday] was very busy we had almost 400 people through the doors.
"It's been slower [Sunday morning], but that's to be expected with the rugby on."
Wanganui candle-maker Anja Lines, who specialises in non-toxic and slow-burning soy candles, was equally pleased.
"It's been very successful for me. People especially the people who come to this type of show want to be sustainable, and soy candles are sustainable."
Wanganui woman Tangiwai had just come out of a clairvoyant reading at the expo and was very impressed with what she'd heard.
"She was spot on. She knew stuff a stranger couldn't know about me."
Tangiwai said she was keen to see the expo visit Wanganui again.
"I hope it comes back I'd be here in a flash."
And it seems she may get her wish.
"We'll definitely be back next year," said Mr Beard.
