Firefighters were called when a power point started smoking inside a Castlecliff home on Thursday afternoon.

Fire and Emergency attended the Manuka St property just after 4pm but Whanganui station officer Shane Dudley said the occupants had put it out before firefighters arrived at the scene.

There was no damage to the property.
