Fire crews quickly battled a “well-involved” house fire in Whanganui that filled the sky with smoke.
Fire and Emergency NZ responded to the Puriri St blaze with three vehicles from Whanganui at 11.55am on Sunday.
Fire and Emergency central shift manager Allison Munn said the fire was “well-involved” when crews
arrived.
The fire, in a single-storey house, was estimated to be about 150sq m in size.
By 1.15pm, the fire was suppressed and crews shifted their focus to checking for hot spots.
